the lost brabus dealership
Islamabad was once home to an exclusive Brabus dealership, which first opened in 2004. The photo shown dates back to 2008. Initially located on Margalla Road, the showroom later relocated to Rockville Tower in Gulberg Greens, where it continued catering to the city’s luxury automotive clientele.
As the 2010s unfolded, however, the operating environment grew more challenging. The security situation in Islamabad became increasingly uncertain, many foreign residents departed around 2008–2009, and a series of unfortunate incidents affected business confidence. With safety concerns mounting, the dealership’s momentum gradually declined, and by 2015, it quietly closed its doors, bringing an end to a remarkable chapter in Islamabad’s luxury car history.
Paris of the east - karachi
In the mid-20th century, particularly during the 1950s and 1960s, Karachi was often referred to as the "Paris of the East" due to its vibrant cultural scene, cosmopolitan atmosphere, and rapid urban development. As Pakistan's first capital after independence, the city saw significant modernization, with the expansion of infrastructure, grand buildings, and a thriving social life that rivaled European cities like Paris. Karachi's diverse population, including expatriates from various countries, contributed to a rich cultural tapestry, making it a hub of social and cultural activities.
Karachi's status as a political, economic, and cultural center attracted businesspeople, diplomats, and tourists, solidifying its reputation as a global city. Although the city has faced challenges in the years since, the legacy of Karachi's golden age as the "Paris of the East" remains a proud chapter in Pakistan's history.
PIA - TREND SETTER
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was once a leading global airline, renowned for its luxury, advanced fleet, and highly trained crew. In the 1960s and 1970s, PIA set the standard for excellence in aviation, becoming the first Asian airline to operate jet aircraft and earning a reputation for outstanding service.
PIA's influence extended beyond its own operations when, in 1985, it played a crucial role in the founding of Emirates Airlines. PIA provided technical support, leased aircraft, and trained Emirates' staff, helping to launch what would become one of the world's most successful airlines. This collaboration underscores PIA's significant impact on global aviation.
mount k2
K2, the world's second-highest peak at 8,611 meters, is located in the Karakoram Range on the Pakistan-China border. Known as the "Savage Mountain," K2 is infamous for its extreme difficulty, steep icy slopes, and unpredictable weather, making it one of the most dangerous climbs in the world with a high fatality rate (22%).
Despite these challenges, K2 continues to inspire mountaineers, symbolizing the ultimate test of endurance and courage. Its first successful ascent was achieved in 1954 by an Italian expedition, marking K2 as a legendary goal for the world's most daring climbers.
